Cosplay Mania 2012~

This is my second time going to CosMania. I am not a big fan of cosplay but whenever I see someone cosplaying some of my favorite characters, I hurriedly running to take a shot.

This time, my adventure is not planned, I'm not really expecting my appearance in the event. And as for my calculations of chances is merely 30-35% . Everything changes when a really wild suggestion of my mother is raise.. LOL I'm not going to details on how I got there.

Quick!
Otaku Reflexes, ON!
Pack camera, extra battery and memory card, water, and MONEY hahah

I didn't felt the half-hour trip to Mall of Asia (maybe I'm too densed to have my senses back after an uberly quick decision and preparation). I arrive at the SMX like a little girl going in a department store full of toys.
There I go again, whispering to myself . I wish no one notice that. Mentally giving my opinion on something but it ends up murmuring like a retard.

Here are the pics of cosplayers (few & chosen):
The two Ciel Phantomhive~
I really love Ciel~ especially when he crossdresses haha

Swort Art Online is famous these days,
so there's no way otakus will miss to cosplay Kirito-kun~

Tsundere guys~

Ciel is a tsundere or he just hate Claude? haha
I don't know why I am so attracted to tsundere guys (anime guys only). I find them very mysterious and interesting, their dark aura and seriousness is very cool (in my opinion).

poor Sebastian is jealous~ haha
Fujoshi ja nai~

They give everyone a cold shoulder but beneath their cold stare lies a very fragile and kind personality. I love how tsundere guys change into a person that everybody understand and love.
I also love their protective personality towards people who are very dear to them. They are caring but deny it (so cute).
I love watching guys being jealous...hahha i don't know why, but it's cute.

Forever an Otaku?

This blog entry is dedicated to my niece (I'm not gonna mention her name, for she is very famous--LOL just kidding). She's the reason why I have to put up my energy doing this even though I am only allowed to use 10% of my energy in a day. LOL moving on.

As of today, I am an overly obsess fan of anime and japanese pop culture. And I had to admit, sometimes I am being scolded of being one.

Question! Do I regret of being an Otaku?

No. I love this hobby and it doesn't mean my whole life is going to revolve around anime alone. I also have my life and career. I am not a NEET, I am an educated person with professional license (I guess, I didn't have to say the last sentence..haha)

The next question is.. Is this forever?

Even I, myself, don't know the answer to that. Being an otaku is a passion and a hobby, it is my greatest escape when I am depress or my ego is in its limit. It is rather a positive reinforcement and coping mechanism whenever I encounter difficulty and stress in my life.

I think if I'm gonna quit these stuff that I love, I'm going insane. I mean, I've been an otaku since I was six and I can say that it is in my blood, as long as there's an otaku blood flowing through my veins, there's no stopping me of being one.

Scenario~
otakunerd (me) vs parents

otakunerd: Hey dad, I'm going to some animecon this weekend. Don't cook lunch for me okay?

parents: WHAT?! THERE YOU GO AGAIN! ATTENDING IN SOME USELESS CONVENTIONS..YOU'RE ONLY WASTING YOUR MONEY
otakunerd: *straight face* (in my mind) I'm going to attend that con anyway.

After the con~

me: I'm so exhausted! I wanna sleep..
*parents noticed a bag full of souvenirs/merchandise*
me: *quickly run up to the stairs*
parents: *I'm watching you*

The next day~
parents: *looks at my bookshelf, they know something's added which is creepy*

It's making me sad when I think of my otaku days will be over, IF it will. I know when someone's getting older, their interests change. And it scares me, so many what if (damn you, my beloved niece..you're giving me foreseeable problem haha jk).

Former otakus might answer why they quit/ stop being an otaku. Right now, I am happy doing stuffs that I love, I am sill enjoying these little things while it lasts. Let's see my answer in the near future, don't worry I'll update this blog...haha

Being an otaku is a choice, It's up to you on how you handle it.

Best Of Anime 2012~

YATTA!
It's a rainy morning when I got up and thinking if I will push through the anime event, Best of Anime. After rationalizing the pros and cons, I decided to go...hahah
I really love travelling far alone, it's my freedom or a temporary escape from the bitter reality. Since the travel time is less than an hour, I plugged my ears with earphones and thinking deep while listening to random genre music (mostly anime songs).

Honestly this is just a draft last week, the first paragraph hahah..

Well let's continue, since I promised to have an entry about my adventure during Best of Anime event.

I arrived at the SMX Mall of Asia, VERY early and suprisingly there are not much attendees or cosplayers around. I was wondering, Am  I too early? Is the event gonna push through?

With no hesitation, I bought my ticket in the counter and entered the event hall. As expected, I'm too early. There are few people around and some booths are just getting ready to set up their merchandises.

Being the curious geek that I am, I decided to take a stroll around the hall to find something that will caught my interest. I found toy stores, I have compulsions to buy stuffs even if it's super early. I have this anxiety, "I better buy this now than sorry"

bigboys toy store, I love buying merchandises here

~Reasons why I wanna go to the Land of the Rising Sun~

We all know that Japan is the birthplace where Anime, Manga and Gaming originated.
It is the mecca for all otakus in the world, specifically in Akihabara though other places in Tokyo sells anime goodies too.

Tokyo, as all we know, is one of the most expensive cities in the world. It also caters not just otaku stuff but also luxury goods like designer clothes and bags. Akihabara, a district of Tokyo, is a major shopping area for electronic, computer, anime, and otaku goods, including new and used items. Its name is frequently shortened to Akiba (アキバ) in Japan.  Akihabara gained some fame through being home to one of the first stores devoted to personal robots and robotics.

Here's a list of reasons why I badly want to go to Japan (Paradise haha):

Just look at it, isn't it inviting?
Just by looking at it, it's very crowded but what the heck?! I will penetrate this city haha..

~Anime Conventions~

With the growing population of anime otaku and enthusiasts in the Philippines, lots of anime and cosplay conventions are organize by different anime groups/ communities. And thanks for these events, convention goers or congoers are in bliss and anticipating another exciting event.

The event itself is very unique and also the people gathered in as well.
Anime enthusiasts/ otaku and other "normal" people have different personality and routine during an anime event and here are some:

FIRST TIMERS
-They have the highest anxiety above all, the curiosity and eagerness are in its max
-They wander around with their mind floating somewhere and actually don't know where or how to start and eventually enjoys the event (after they came back to their senses)
-Take pictures of anything (cosplayers, figures, exhibits)
